This year Year 5 students at Żurrieq Primary School, St. Benedict College kicked off with a new campaign.
The ‘Drop Everything and Read’ is an activity where students with their teachers and Learning Support Assistants, at any time during the school day, will stop from their normal school work, pick up their reading books and spend some time reading freely.
This activity was done outside of the classroom environment. Some classes did it in the school yard while others used the school library. Such activity was intended to make reading more enjoyable to students, encourage them to read more.
