Social workers employed by Education Ministry suspend industrial action

Social workers employed the Ministry for Education and Employment have suspended their industrial action following a meeting between stakeholders.

The Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses registered an industrial dispute two weeks ago relating to allowances received by 30 social workers.

Union representatives met officials from the Department of Industrial and Employment Relations and the Education Ministry yesterday. The two sides agreed to meet in two weeks’ time and make their proposals in a bid to reach a compromise.
