The Ministry for Education is organising a summer catch-up educational programme for primary, middle and secondary students that have missed a lot of schooling because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Identified students from Year 1 to Year 10 will be offered specifically designed lessons, fun activities and support for their social and emotional wellbeing. The program will run for eight weeks, 4 days a week from 8:30 to 12:30. Students will follow a programme that aims to equip them with the skills needed to adapt with their peers once they return to their normal classes in September. The programme will also include activities such as crafts and sports.
The programme will be available in 8 centres in Malta and Gozo (4 for primary level and 4 for Middle/Secondary level) and also one virtual programme.
The Catch-Up Summer Educational Programme complements the support services offered by the Ministry for Education, including Teleskola with more than 10,000 lessons on demand https://teleskola.mt/ and 3 virtual schools (primary, middle and secondary).
