Ta’ Sawra Empowerment Hub is a transformative project spearheaded by Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and The Malta Trust Foundation, both of whom are deeply committed to advancing social justice and inclusion in Malta. This groundbreaking initiative aims to establish Malta’s very first fully integrated centre that brings together music, arts, therapy, agriculture, and social enterprise under one roof. The vision behind the Hub is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment specifically designed to empower children and young people with disabilities as well as those facing various forms of social exclusion.
What makes the Ta’ Sawra Empowerment Hub truly unique is its holistic approach to empowerment. Rather than focusing solely on care or support, the Hub offers meaningful, hands-on opportunities for self-expression, skill-building, and personal growth. Through music and the creative arts, children can find their voice; through therapeutic services, they can access emotional support; through agricultural activities, they can connect with nature and develop practical skills; and through social enterprise initiatives, they can gain valuable work experiences that foster independence and confidence.
The programming is inclusive by design and innovative in delivery, ensuring that every participant, regardless of ability or background, is given the tools and opportunities to thrive. Beyond individual growth, the Hub also seeks to shift societal mindsets—breaking down stigma, promoting equality, and championing diversity across Malta.
Ultimately, the Ta’ Sawra Empowerment Hub is more than a centre; it is a symbol of hope and a catalyst for change, setting the stage for a more inclusive, compassionate, and socially just Malta.
The fund raising campaign for the coming 2 years of the social committee will be donated for the Ta’ Saura National Empowerment Hub.
