Malta Shines at the World School Games in Barcelona – Three Trophies for Team Malta!


Malta’s young players made the nation proud at the World School Games 2025, held in Barcelona last weekend, where they brought home an impressive three trophies after days of thrilling football competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Representing the island with a total of 78 teams from 40 schools in 20 different countries, Malta’s school teams took part in this prestigious event as they battled it out to be crowned the World Champions of School Football.

The event was held at Futbol Salou’s state-of-the-art facilities with the idyllic Mediterranean Sports Hub – widely regarded as one of the finest footballing venues on the plant.

From the very start, the Maltese delegation demonstrated remarkable determination, discipline, and unity — values that shone through every performance. Their collective effort and spirit were rewarded as Team Malta captured three major trophies, marking one of the most successful outings for Maltese schools in recent years.

Beyond the medals and trophies, the Games offered our young athletes an unforgettable cultural and sporting experience.
