GLOBE students attending Gozo College Middle School are collecting surface temperature readings, as part of The Urban Heat Island Effect (UHIE) Campaign. The campaign is focused on looking at the impact urbanisation has on the Earth’s surface temperature, and on how the surface temperature changes the dynamics of the Earth’s atmosphere. Data collected is uploaded on the GLOBE website which add to the extensive data set that students and scientists from all over the world can use to study the urban heat island effect.
