Footballer’s Read and Write Programme – Cycle 9

In October 2022, the National Literacy Agency kicked off the 9th cycle of the Footballers’ Read and Write Programme / Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja (FRWP) in 8 primary and 2 middle schools. The aim of this programme is to inspire a love of reading and writing amongst students. Past cycles have shown that the majority of participants improved their reading skills by the end of the programme. The FRWP sessions combine the children’s love and passion for football with reading and writing, thus motivating them to read and better their overall language skills. FRWP is currently being organized in the following primary schools which are implementing guided reading:

Gozo College, Għarb Primary School;

Gozo College, Xewkija Primary School;

St Benedict College, Birżebbuġa Primary School;

St Ġorg Preca College, Ħamrun GP Primary School;

St Ġorg Preca College, Marsa Primary School;
