On Tuesday, 11th June 2024 the National Literacy Agency, in collaboration with the Malta Football Association (MFA), organised a football event at the National Football Stadium in Ta’ Qali to celebrate the end of the twelfth cycle of the Footballers’ Read & Write Programme / ‘Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja’. Students from the following primary schools participated in the celebration:
Maria Regina College, St Paul’s Bay Primary School;
St Ignatius College, Qormi San Bastjan Primary School;
St Ġorġ Preca College, Ħamrun SS Primary School;
St Ġorġ Preca College, Marsa Primary School;
St Ġorġ Preca College, Floriana Primary School;
St Margaret College, Kalkara Primary School;
St Thomas More College, Marsaxlokk Primary School.
During the celebration event, the pupils had a private guided tour of the National Stadium premises and Football Museum. The tour included the press conference room, the changing rooms, gym, the stadium tunnel and the football ground. A football tournament was held for all participants at the Centenary Stadium. At the end, the children were presented with a ball, a book prize, a token from MFA, and a certificate of participation. Students from Birżebbuġa Primary School, Żejtun Middle School and St Elias College also participated in the twelfth edition of the Footballers’ Read and Write Programme.
