One hundred and thirty newly appointed teachers (NQTs) were welcomed by the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation (MEYR) ahead of the 2025–2026 scholastic year.
A three-day induction seminar, held between 16 and 18 September and jointly organised by the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education, the Education Resources Directorate, and the respective Colleges, aimed to equip new educators with the tools and support needed to excel in their roles.
The seminar introduced a two-year induction process led by the Education Resources Directorate, which includes the Performance Management and Professional Development Plan (PMPDP). Through mentoring and appraisal, this process supports teachers until confirmation of employment and the granting of the Permanent Warrant.
Teachers were also briefed on the roles of the Resourcing Directorate, the Employee Support Programme (ESP), and the workings of government. The Curriculum Directorate delivered subject-specific sessions with Education Officers, focusing on curriculum delivery, assessment methods, and Broad Learning Outcomes (BLOs).
The seminar underscores MEYR’s commitment to a well-supported, professionally prepared teaching workforce and to ensuring quality education for all students.
