The excitement surrounding the Malta School Games 2026 continues to grow as another meaningful milestone was reached on 23rd February. During a special ceremony held at Santa Luċija Secondary School, the official torch was proudly handed over from San Anton School to the first State College, Saint Thomas More.
The occasion began with a vibrant and energetic dance performance by MVPA students, setting the tone for a celebration filled with enthusiasm and school spirit. This was followed by a programme presented by the Santa Luċija students, creating a memorable and inspiring atmosphere for everyone in attendance.
Adding to the significance of the day, the official Malta School Games 2026 song, “Logħob li Jgħaqqadna,” was officially launched. The anthem captures the true essence of the Malta School Games, celebrating unity, teamwork, and sportsmanship — values that lie at the heart of the event.
This powerful song is the result of a wonderful collaboration:
-
Augusto Cardinali, who penned the inspiring lyrics
-
Philip Vella, composer of the music
-
And Glen Vella, whose energy and passion brought the song vividly to life
As the torch continues its journey, the spirit of the Malta School Games grows stronger, bringing schools and communities together in anticipation of the celebrations ahead.
