Highlights from the Malta School Games Awards Night – 19 June 2026

What a truly memorable evening at Bacchus Restaurant, celebrating the outstanding achievements, unwavering dedication, and sporting excellence demonstrated by our schools, educators, and students throughout this year’s Malta School Games. The MSG Awards Night was a fitting tribute to the passion, teamwork, and commitment that define our sporting community, bringing together inspiring individuals whose efforts continue to elevate school sports across Malta. An evening of pride, recognition, and celebration that will undoubtedly motivate even greater success in the years ahead.
A heartfelt congratulations goes to the schools who secured the prestigious shield in both the Primary and Secondary categories—an exceptional achievement that reflects consistent effort, teamwork, and a true spirit of sportsmanship. Your dedication has set a remarkable standard and serves as an inspiration to all participating schools. Well done to all students, educators, and supporters who contributed to this well-deserved success.

The evening also recognised the outstanding performances of the top five ranked schools in both sectors, with sports equipment vouchers awarded to support the continued development of school sports programmes:-
🏅 1st Place – €1,500 – Siggiewi Primary School and  MRC Naxxar Middle School
🏅 2nd Place – €1,200 – St. Michael Foundation and San Andrea School Junior School
🏅 3rd Place – €1,000 – Marsaskala St. Anne Primary and San Andrea School Senior School
🏅 4th Place – €800 – Dr. Frans Chetcuti Żabbar B Primary and MRC Lily of the Valley Mosta Secondary School
🏅 5th Place – €600- Prof. Anton Tabone Birżebbuġa Primary and St Aloysius College Senior School
The celebration also honoured the teachers whose schools emerged victorious in the Malta School Games Finals, with the presentation of MSG medals in recognition of their invaluable contribution and commitment to school sport.
Congratulations to the Design and Technology Department for the outstanding creation of the MSG Shields for both Primary and Secondary categories. Under the leadership of Keith Galea and with the dedication of his team, this achievement reflects exceptional creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment to excellence. Well done to all involved for producing such remarkable work that truly showcases the talent within the department.
