The Government launched a tax incentive scheme aimed towards helping those pursuing a Masters, PhD programme or any other MQF Level 7 or 8 programme.
The estimated value of this initiative ranges between €6 and €7 million. Those following the educational programme on a part-time basis can make use of this scheme on a pro-rata basis.
Individuals under the age of 40 who have not been awarded a scholarship are eligible for this scheme.
“Government believes that education is the key for social mobility to foster individual growth as well as to grow as a country” Finance Minister Edward Scicluna said.
Minister Scicluna said the Government wants to encourage more people to continue their studies at post-graduate level, which is equivalent to MQF7 and MQF8. In last year’s budget, it was explained that those individuals which undertake this scheme will receive tax incentives.
