St Benedict College unite in aid of Ukraine

Ever since the crisis in Ukraine started unfolding, St Benedict’s College has promoted a number of initiatives to help the countless families who were forced to flee their homes because of the ongoing conflict.

A collection campaign in aid of Malta4Ukraine was launched and the St Benedict College community united to contribute items such as warm clothes, toiletries, medicine, and food to donate to Ukrainian people. Malta4Ukraine, is a private fundraiser, directly assisting STEP-IN (a Non-Governmental Association) who aims to support Ukrainian refugees.

Several activities, including a ‘Hot Chocolate Day’, a ‘Tug of Peace’, a bazaar, and a ‘Doughnut Day’, were also held to raise funds in solidarity for this noble cause. The money collected was donated to Caritas Malta, a non-profit organisation which is financially assisting vulnerable people in Ukraine.
