The Malta Trust Foundation, in conjunction with the National Literacy Agency, is hosting the fifth edition of the National Readathon between March and June 2022. The aim of the Readathon is to foster a love for reading among children, while nurturing in them a sense of solidarity with their peers through reading for pleasure. Children will be rewarded for their reading efforts and the funds collected will be used to purchase educational resources for non-verbal children on the autism spectrum. This initiative is being organised with the support of Malta Public Transport.
During the Readathon, H. E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca along with the Reading Ambassadors and local influencers are visiting a number of participating schools to promote the initiative. A certificate of participation will be given to all the participants. The student from each school who manages to collect the most funds will be declared a Readathon Champion and will be awarded a special prize.
The National Literacy Agency and the Malta Trust Foundation encourage all primary and middle schools to participate in this initiative and apply by clicking here.
