Early Intervention Programmes: Kuluri, Alpha and Number Beats

During Summer 2023, the Early Intervention Service within the National School Support Services (NSSS) is organising two group programs for children who are being supported by the service, entitled Kuluri and Alpha & Number Beats. Sessions are being delivered by practitioners from the Early Intervention Service within the National School Support Services (NSSS) in Hamrun.

Kuluri is a six-week group session program for babies born in 2021 and 2022. This program is targeting the babies’ various areas of development including gross & fine motor skills, communication & language skills, social interaction, and overall development. All activities carried out during each session are focusing on a particular theme, which include Animals, Playtime, Transport, Water Play, Body Parts and Picnic. Each theme is explored through play and sensory exploration. Parents are also being given the opportunity to meet and interact with other parents/carers during these sessions.

Alpha and Number Beats is a program that is being organised with the aim to support children who are struggling to learn letter sounds and numbers through songs, games and fun activities.  It is intended for those children who are presently in K2. Eight sessions have been organised which are being held once a week, having started in July.
