On the 9th of October 2023, more than 450 students from Years 7 and 8 at St. Theresa College Middle School Birkirkara (Ta’ Paris) came together to commemorate the European School Sports Day 2023. All classes took part in a fun, yet challenging obstacle course prepared by the school’s Physical Education teachers, Mr. Ivan Attard, Ms. Marilyn Grech, Mr. Duncan Micallef, and Mr. Joseph Steward. The all-around-the-school obstacle course incorporated sections which required speed, agility, balance, coordination, and stamina.
The school had the privilege of hosting Mr. Charles Gauci, the School Project Manager, who conducted taster volleyball sessions as part of the broader CEV School Project. The school had undertaken this initiative the previous year in collaboration with one of its Physical Education teachers, Ms. Marilyn Grech. This sports project included Volleyball lessons as part of the Games Area syllabus, and the setting up of a Volleyball Midday Break Club with more than 30 students enthusiastically participating. This number is expected to grow during the 2023/2024 academic year.
