On Friday, 16th February 2024 the National Literacy Agency, in collaboration with the Malta Football Association, organised a football event at the National Football Stadium in Ta’ Qali to celebrate the end of the eleventh cycle of the Footballers’ Read & Write Programme / ‘Bil-Qari u l-Kitba Niskorja’. Students from the following primary schools participated in the celebration:
St Benedict College, Kirkop Primary School;
St Clare College, Gżira Primary School;
St Ġorg Preca College, Ħamrun GP Primary School;
St Margaret College, Cospicua Primary School;
St Margaret College, Senglea Primary School;
St Theresa College, Lija-Balzan-Iklin Primary School;
St Theresa College, Msida Primary School;
St Thomas More College Żejtun B Primary School;
During the celebration event, the pupils had a private guided tour of the National Stadium premises and the Football Museum. The tour included the press conference room, the changing rooms, the gym, the stadium tunnel, and the football ground. A football tournament was held for all participants at the Centenary Stadium. At the end, the children were presented with a ball, a book prize, a token from MFA, and a certificate of participation. Secondary school students from St Augustine College, Pietà, Stella Maris College, Gżira and primary school pupils from Għarb, Sannat and Xewkija, also participated in the eleventh edition of the Footballers’ Read and Write Programme.
