The eTwinning Multilateral Seminar for Ambassadors 2025, held in Malta from 20th to 22nd March, brought together eTwinning Ambassadors from Slovakia, Spain, Slovenia, Estonia, Tunisia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, and Malta to strengthen European citizenship and collaboration. Hosted at the Paradise Bay Resort, the event featured key speeches, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities.
The seminar opened with addresses from Malta’s eTwinning National Support Organisation (NSO) Dr. Rose anna Camilleri and Permanent Secretary Mr. Matthew Vella, followed by a keynote speech by Prof. Richard Powers on the impact of eTwinning in fostering European unity. Ice-breaking activities, led by the Estonian and Spanish NSOs, set a collaborative tone.
The workshops focused on ambassadorial roles, AI in storytelling, and planning effective training sessions. Prof. Powers also conducted a training session on mentoring teachers in eTwinning. Ambassadors worked on drafting training programmes to support educators further.
On the final day, a panel discussion with representatives from six NSOs addressed future challenges and opportunities in eTwinning. The seminar concluded with celebrations marking eTwinning’s 20th anniversary, highlighting strengthened networks and friendships.
The event underscored Malta’s key role in advancing digital literacy, intercultural collaboration and cross-border cooperation.
