The Malta School Games continued to highlight the growth of youth sport with an exciting Squash U13 Open competition, which saw a notable rise in participation this year. Six schools were represented: Verdala International School, St Michael’s Foundation, St Aloysius College, St Clare College Pembroke, Savio College, and the St Clare College National Sports School.
The event featured a three-hour individual round-robin format, offering young athletes plenty of court time to showcase their skills. Throughout the competition, players demonstrated impressive determination, focus, and sportsmanship, reflecting both their personal commitment and the strong preparation provided by their schools.
The atmosphere was filled with energy and enthusiasm as students competed not only for results, but also for excellence and respect—key values promoted through the Malta School Games programme.
Special thanks go to the Malta Squash Association for their ongoing support and organisation, which continues to play a vital role in developing young squash athletes across the islands. Appreciation is also extended to the teachers and students whose dedication and involvement made the event a success.
Congratulations to Verdala International School, St Michael’s Foundation, St Aloysius College, and Savio College, who secured their qualification for the Malta School Games Squash Finals in May 2026. We look forward to seeing these young athletes continue their journey on the national stage.
