Klabb Naħla is a literacy programme run by the National Literacy Agency. Its aim is to support 6- to 11-year-old children manifesting literacy difficulties by strengthening their reading and writing skills in Maltese or English. The programme sessions are currently being held online on a one-to-one basis.
At present there are 204 primary school children benefitting from this additional literacy support, which is being delivered by 43 educators, most of whom work within the same school that their pupil attends. In addition, through Klabb Naħla, a further 88 children who participated in the Reading Recovery literacy intervention programme during the last scholastic year are receiving literacy support in English from another 21 educators.
