Recently, Mrs Miriam Vella, wife of His Excellency Dr George Vella, President of the Republic of Malta, visited Dingli Primary School in order to launch this year’s STRINA piggy bank collection.
On the day, the school was also celebrating World Children’s Day. Instead of releasing balloons which negatively impact our planet, the students decided to host a group kite flight. The students chose to make their own kites out of recycled material. Their colourful kites, symbols of unity in diversity, looked spectacular.
This symbolic celebration was interactive and underlined the need to look after our planet even when we are celebrating. Afterwards the kites were collected and shall be used to decorate the corridor ceilings.
