It-Tim ta’ Appoġġ għall-Ispettru tal-Awtiżmu (ASST) qed jgħin lill-edukaturi billi jwieġeb domandi f’dak li jirrigwarda t-tagħlim tal-istudenti fuq l-ispettru tal-awtiżmu mid-dar. L-ASST tagħmel riċerka fuq prattika bbażata fuq l-evidenza dwar it-tagħlim virtwali u tibgħat riżorsi, per eżempju, stejjer soċjali dwar x’għandhom jagħmlu it-tfal biex jipproteġu lilhom infushom kontra l-Coronavirus u biex inaqqsu l-ansjetà li jkollhom f’dawn iż-żminijiet. Is-sapport qed jinagħta wkoll direttament lill-ġenituri ta’ tfal bl-awtiżmu li qed ikollhom aktar diffikultà jadattaw mas-sitwazzjoni.

Facilitating and supporting autistic children
The Autism Spectrum Support Team (ASST) supports educators by answering any queries about facilitating the teaching and learning of students on the autism spectrum during school closure. ASST resorts to research and evidence-based practice about virtual learning and forwards resources to educators, such as social stories for children about how to deal with the present health situation. Support is also given directly to parents whose children with autism are struggling, through phone calls and emails.
