On Tuesday 20th August, Marsascala Summer Catch-Up Classes team together with Birgu Summer Catch-Up Classes team organised an animal awareness talk and a fundraising activity in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
On this day, representatives from the Animal Welfare Directorate delivered a very interesting and interactive talk where they focused on the importance to educate children to respect and love each other, animals and environment in order to reach a balancing harmony and live a better life for all in this world. If a child from an early age can respect, love or take care of an animal and the environment, the same he/she will do with other people when grown up! A lovable dog was brought over and students had the opportunity to caress her. This activity promoted the development of the students` love and respect for animals.
After the talk, the Animal Welfare representative Mr. Robert Cutajar and Mr. George Farrugia were presented with various cat and dog food, all donated from students attending both the Marsascala Summer Catch-Up Classes and Birgu Summer Catch-Up Classes.
Later, the students enjoyed a tuna or ham and cheese panina , freshly prepared by the teachers at the centre. All proceeds went in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.
Both students and staff enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to organising similar activities in the coming weeks.
