Agenda 2030: ICT Tools for Sustainable Development
Two of the main areas of Maria Regina College plan for 2025 are Sustainable Development Goals and Digital Tools. In fact, one of six Erasmus+ projects 2025, Agenda 2030: ICT Tools for Sustainable Development combined these two. In February 2025, a group of 7, two middle and secondary educators from each MRC School, captained by a Deputy Head who represents MRC Mosta Secondary Lily of the Valley on MRC Accreditation Committee, attended this training course in Rome.
The aim of this Erasmus+ course was to effectively introduce a selection of global goals from the UNs 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the classroom with the support of digital technologies. In addition, participants also discovered a selection of quality edTech apps and AI Tools which they can use to improve any teaching activity.
Participants from MRC had the opportunity to work closely and discuss with other participants from Spain and Italy. Together they took learning to the next level with engaging activities, putting theory into practice through active challenges. Days were full of teamwork, creativity and real-world problem solving. They focused on student-centered learning and shared their insights through Gamma presentations on engaging, dynamic and a fantastic way to reflect on learning. They explored a Digital tool, Goose Chase, which is a fantastic tool for assessment for and as learning, boosting interactivity and mobility in the classroom!
The team also got creative with AI, using Suno to generate songs related to specific SDG Goals. This was a positive learning experience for MRC educators which in a fun and innovative way helped them to connect learning with real-world issues! They are all determined to implement this approach with students in our college. This would also lead to a third aim Maria Regina College is working on: Tackling Early Leaving from Education and Training (ELET).
Thanks go to EUPA and MRC Accreditation Committee.
